We cultivate this environment through excellence in teaching, performance, service, outreach, and creative and scholarly work in arts entrepreneurship, dance, music, and music technology. The Department of Performing Arts and Technology offers a variety of technique, ensemble, and lecture courses. The Department has a new major in Music Technology and also provides academic minors in Dance Studies, Dance Performance and Choreography, Music Studies, Music Performance, and Arts Entrepreneurship. More information about the department can be found at https://performingartstech.dasa.ncsu.edu/ The Department of Performing Arts and Technology at North Carolina State University seeks applications for Lecturers to teach in the areas of music technology, acoustics and psychoacoustics, sound isolation, recording, mixing, and audio digital signal processing. University classes typically meet 2-3 times weekly for 3 hours. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching courses while grading and mentoring students.

Requirements

  • Requires a master's degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or DMA in computer music, music technology, computer science, electrical engineering or other related fields
  • Experience working with music technology students at the collegiate level
  • Experience with sound design
  • Experience with video game audio
