About The Position

We are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to Yavapai College Cafe specifications. The Line Cook will be responsible for setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. Candidates must possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction. This position may include responsibilities with the Facilities Department or Prescott Pines Camp during the summer months. Candidates should be prepared to support seasonal operations as needed. Requirements

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry's best practices
Ability to follow work direction and work as a part of a team
Ability to adapt to workplace and work load changes
Accuracy and attention to detail with regards to work orders and time keeping
Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties
Aptitude to learn new tasks quickly
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and managers in person, by phone and email
Ability to work in an environment which promotes teamwork and strong work ethics
Work after hours and weekends to cover shows at the Performing Arts Center, special events and projects
Ability to adapt to workplace and workload changes
Ability to perform the safe operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools
Accuracy and attention to detail with regard to work orders and timekeeping

Valid AZ Driver's License.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.

Responsibilities

Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report and follow all operational instructions
Clean up station and kitchen daily
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Provide dishwashing support as needed
Evenings and weekends required
Curb painting
Grounds clean up and trash removal
Trail maintenance
Other grounds duties
Window washing
Carpet cleaning/shampooing
Event set up
Room turning at the Halls
General cleaning tasks
Help with setups when needed
Properly vacuum carpet and dust mop and wet mop hard floors
Ability to keep bathrooms clean and sanitized and stocked
Identifies issues with buildings and equipment and requests work orders
