The Department of History at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY is seeking part-time instructors to teach Global Perspective of the Recent Past: 1870-2000. Preferred applicants will have teaching experience in history and familiarity with Bellarmine. In addition to the course, the instructor is expected to be available to students, including a minimum of one hour of office hours held weekly and during finals week. The course is taught in person and on campus. At Bellarmine, Global Perspective of the Recent Past: 1870-2000 is an introductory course that asks how we - as individuals and as groups - construct and define our various national histories in an international context? How do economic events in one part of the world affect fiscal issues in another location? How do issues of identity (race, religion, class, gender, etc.) intersect with politics? These questions and others will be asked as this course analyzes major events in modern and contemporary history through a chronological and thematic lens.
