About The Position
The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking applicants for the position of: Part-Time School Health Room Aide Intermediate School Deadline for Applications: Until filled Qualifications: CPR Certified required, LPN/RN optional Employment: 20 hours per week for the remainder of the school year Pay Rate: $17.42 per hour, LPN/RN $21.26 per hour Purpose Statement: The school Health Aide provides essential support to the school nurse, assisting with the daily health needs of students and staff. This role includes administering basic first aid, managing student health records, supporting the school nurse with routine care, and assisting with diapering, tube feeding, colostomy bags, medication, toileting, etc. for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR certification required
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate demeanor
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly with children is preferred
- LPN/RN
Responsibilities
- Promotes and protects the optimal health status of school-age children under the direction of the school nurse
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with district and state regulations
- Document student visits to the health room, including symptoms, actions taken, and outcomes
- Utilizes existing health resources to provide appropriate care of students
- Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
- Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
- Works collaboratively with school nurses in the district
- Dispenses students' prescribed medications
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
- Tracks visits to health room and documents all visits
- Other duties as needed to meet needs of students in building
