About The Position

The Learning Experience of Middletown is seeking an experienced, dependable, and adaptable Part-Time Floating Assistant Teacher to support multiple classrooms each afternoon. This is not a substitute position. This is a consistent, structured role requiring professionalism, flexibility, and confidence across age groups. Our Floating Assistant supports Infants all the way to Preschool classrooms during the busy afternoon hours, helping maintain structure, supervision, and smooth transitions. This position is ideal for someone who: Is comfortable moving between classrooms based on daily needs Can quickly adapt to different teaching styles and routines Walks into a classroom and immediately contributes Helps children feel safe, supported, and comfortable Maintains professionalism and calm energy at all times Follows policies, procedures, and licensing regulations consistently Afternoon hours require strong supervision, energy, and organization. We are looking for someone who understands that stability and structure matter — even in part-time roles. Our center is growing, and we are building a team of educators who are serious about their work and committed to maintaining high standards. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed daycare center
  • Experience working with multiple age groups (toddlers and/or preschool)
  • Strong understanding of classroom routines and child development
  • Only applicants with verifiable daycare experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lead Teachers in all classrooms
  • Assist with transitions, dismissal routines, and classroom management
  • Maintain safety and ratio compliance
  • Help keep classrooms clean and organized
  • Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities
  • Provide nurturing, positive interactions throughout the day
