Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent required; Six months to one-year related experience and/or training required in area of cash handling or customer service.
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively and clearly (both written and verbally): Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Requires ability to perform basic mathematical calculations: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Requires ability to use good judgment in making routine and complex decisions; Must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell products and Services: Ability to accurately handle large sums of cash; Must be goal oriented and able to achieve individual goals as well as work as a team player to achieve departmental and/or Bank goals; Flexibility is necessary with the ability to adapt in an ever changing environment.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, with an ability to quickly learn other bank related programs

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for greeting all bank customers, as they enter the branch, in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Operate a teller window to process a variety of transactions within established guidelines, such as processing individual and commercial deposits, savings and checking transactions, cash advances, loan payments, credit card payments and other transactions.
  • Enter customers' transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts.
  • Assist customers with questions regarding their accounts; Place holds on accounts, as appropriate.
  • Order daily supply of cash, and count incoming cash; Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer and compare totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen.
  • Participate in maintaining good customer relations by giving courteous, efficient service and developing new business by acquainting non-customers with bank services and presenting current customers with additional services; Identify and respond to these cross-sale opportunities by referring customers to the appropriate bank personnel.
  • Record customer interactions in the bank's CRM platform.
