Part- Time Fire & EMS Community Risk Reduction Specialist West Chester Township has an immediate need to fill a Part-Time Fire & EMS Community Risk Reduction Specialist. The West Chester Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services to a community of 65,000 residents, 3,000 businesses occupying 35 square miles. Current hourly rate is $27.03/hour. Position Summary: The Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Specialist is a part-time, civilian position responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of Community Risk Reduction activities related to fire, emergency medical services (EMS) and all-hazards risks within West Chester Township. The position supports a data-driven, evidence-based approach to reducing injuries, fatalities and property loss through targeted education, outreach, partnerships and risk-mitigation strategies. The CRR Specialist reports directly to the Assistant Chief of Operations and works in close coordination with the Bureau Chief of Loss Prevention and the Bureau Chief of EMS. While the position does not exercise supervisory authority over sworn personnel, it functions as a subject-matter specialist and coordinator for CRR initiatives across the Department. This position is established in alignment with nationally recognized best practices, including NFPA 1300 (Standard on Community Risk Assessment and Community Risk Reduction Plan) and Vision 20/20 Community Risk Reduction principles.
