Job Description The Montgomery College is currently accepting applications for possible openings to work at the three campus locations (Rockville, Takoma Park/Silver Spring and Germantown), as a contracted part-time faculty member and teaching American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, Heartsaver, and First Aid in Health Sciences. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. Duties include but are not limited to: Prepare and deliver instruction as outlined by the American Heart Association. Hold all class meetings as scheduled. Teach at all scheduled Montgomery College campuses. Travel to teach contract BLS classes’ off-campus. Set-up equipment in classroom prior to start of class. Clean-up classroom and equipment at the end of each session. Montgomery College is currently seeking instructors who can teach American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, Heartsaver, and First Aid. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • One year of teaching Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes.
  • Current American Health Association Basic Life Support (BLS) – Healthcare Provider Certification and Instructor Certification (if hired, must be current prior to start of first class).
  • Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.
  • Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus).
  • Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools.
  • If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the department chair at the time of interview.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.
  • Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
  • As a condition of employment, the following are required at the time of hire: Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).
