The University of Southern Maine’s Department of Educational Leadership is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach its Evaluation of Education Programs (EDU 707) for the Summer 2026 Session, beginning May 18, 2026 . Evaluation of Education Program (EDU 707) - This course focuses on conducting evidence-based evaluation of the design and implementation of education programs. This course introduces students to program evaluation theory and practice, how to design and implement program evaluations and how to understand the outcomes and impacts. Building on theory of change models, students will develop evaluation plans, analyze evaluation data and demonstrate the ability to communicate evaluation outcomes to target audiences. We are seeking a student-focused instructor who will be responsible for the full delivery and grading of the course. Responsibilities include developing the course, teaching, assessing student performance, and meeting with students as needed. The instructor will be provided with the course learning objectives, program competencies, and suggested topical outline. Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit hour basis based on prior teaching experience. Eligible part-time faculty members may elect certain benefits provided by the University of Maine System. In addition, The Center for Academic Innovation provides learning design consulting and faculty development opportunities to help faculty to create engaging programs, courses and lesson plans grounded in evidence-based best practices for every modality.
