About The Position

Overview:The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated part time environmental intern to assist the Engineering & Environmental Division with various aspects of land development, mining and environmental projects, but not limited to, field sampling, working with Geoprobe to collect soil samples, facility inspections and various project related needs associated with environmental projects and tasks. The internship will extend through the spring semester of 2026. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and/or business partners, applying what you’ve learned in class to various projects. Requirements

  • Familiarity with Internet Explorer, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to utilize appropriate PPE (Level D) as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Nice To Haves

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program pursuing focused on environmental sciences and/or project management
  • Experience with drilling equipment and water supply systems preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Performs all work according to OSHA, MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Assist staff with various tasks.
  • Work under supervision of environmental group leader, environmental scientist, project engineer or a senior level team member.
  • Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation
  • Other duties as assigned
