About The Position
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for two Part-Time Cooks for the Birmingham Area Command, located in Birmingham, AL paying $12 an hour. Please read hours and description before applying: Hours Available: We have two positions available. (Subject to change) (1) 8AM - 3:30PM Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (2) 8AM - 3:30PM Monday, Tuesday, Sunday This position is responsible for : Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules. We cook about 250-300 meals a day. Cooks need to be able to cook whole meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year experience cooking food for large groups
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within 21 days of hire
- Applicable state, local and/or program contract certifications or licenses
Responsibilities
- ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner.
- cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances.
- maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.
