About The Position

Deliver food and non-food items and supplies to each location as directed.

Requirements

  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Can lift and carry up to 45 pounds unassisted
  • Depth perception and peripheral vision are required
  • Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable, reliable, prompt, cooperative
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Can perform job assignments and comply with district policies and procedures
  • Clear and valid Texas drivers' license
  • 2 years box truck driving and delivery experience
  • Must obtain Texas Food Handler's Certificate within 60 days of their start date
  • Must be able to repetitively lift 40-50 pounds w/out assistance
  • Good driving record

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment and assist in moving and storage of materials as required.
  • Ability to use maps and global positing systems (GPS) to locate addresses and determine efficient routes for delivery
  • Ability to utilize pallet jack, dolly, and lift gate
  • Make weekly deliveries of materials and supplies using district delivery vehicle.
  • Communicate with managers upon delivery when possible
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle, equipment, and work area in accordance with applicable regulations and district standards.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records of items picked up and delivered
  • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory
  • Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in safe operating condition
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correct to CN Director
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • Utilize proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Maintain and communicate commodity truck dashboard alerts and issues
  • Inform the Nutrition Office when maintenance is requires (Oil Chage, Inspection, etc.)
  • Work independently and make deliveries in a timely manner
