In this part-time role, you will be a key member of the Dig & Save St. Vincent de Paul thrift store team, which is tasked with delivering excellent service to our customers, donors and clients. Fundamental duties include cashiering, restocking merchandise and processing donations. This is an essential position that allows us to contribute to the many services SVdP provides!

Requirements

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must be able to follow instructions and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Cashiering duties: operate cash register and process transactions accurately, assist customers with purchases and vouchers, educate customers on VIP and monthly Round-Up program
  • Provide customer and donor assistance throughout the store by answering questions, anticipating customer needs, offering help and encouraging sales
  • Restock merchandise on sales floor and price items as needed
  • Pull and sort product in accordance with company guidelines and safety protocols
  • Assist on donation dock by receiving and processing donations based on SVdP Take/Do Not Take guidelines and loading items onto a semi-trailer or into the stock room as appropriate
  • Help maintain cleanliness of the store by performing cleaning duties on a rotating assignment list
  • Support the effort to create a more inclusive and equitable organization
  • Adhere to Safeguarding Policy by ensuring timely completion of mandatory training and staying updated on relevant training modules
