Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, or a closely related field is desirable.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a correctional setting required.
  • Bilingual Spanish is required.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the Principles of Effective Intervention that empirical evidence has proven to successfully reduce recidivism.
  • Must possess the ability to work with a team of professionals and have the ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments.
  • Must be able to work with correctional staff in a professional and effective manner.
  • Must be flexible, cooperative and empathetic to the needs of staff and inmates.
  • Ability to prepare written reports; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and to learn rules, regulations, and security procedures required by the facility.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
  • Ability to pass customer clearance and background.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in case management or social work is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in appropriate training for designated responsibilities.
  • Interviews newly admitted inmates utilizing the Humphrey Decision Financial Questionnaire.
  • Utilizes the Fresno County case management system to record the Humphrey Decision Financial Questionnaire.
  • Logs results into the Fresno County case management system to determine the incarcerated person's ability to pay bail, as determined by the Superior Court of Fresno.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
