About The Position

White Rabbit features an approachable offering of beer, wine, spirits, table service, and premium champagnes, along with small plates and snacks. Originally named "The Matrix" by Jefferson Airplane in 1965, White Rabbit has a storied history as a pivotal venue in the formative years of the San Francisco rock music scene. Along with showcasing countless rock bands, the venue hosted renowned artists, such as The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Santana, Bob Marley, and more. In 2000, PlumpJack Group assumed operations of the business, and in 2018, the establishment was reimagined as White Rabbit - a neighborhood cocktail bar that seamlessly transforms into a popular DJ music venue on the weekends, all while retaining a welcoming living room atmosphere. Purpose of the role: To provide a safe and hospitable environment for all customers and staff.

Requirements

Minimum 1-year bar, nightclub or hospitality security experience.
English fluency required.
Must possess current California Guard Card at time of hire.
Must be familiar with federal, state and local liquor laws.
Basic knowledge of foods, service standards and procedures.
Detail oriented, organized, and efficient. Learns quickly.
Safety-minded. High quality standards of production and service
Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.
Courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.

Responsibilities

To check all guest ID’s at the door before entering premises.
To follow security protocols as directed by Manager on Duty/Lead Security.
To make the Manager on Duty/Lead Security aware of all guest comments and complaints.
To enforce, promote and comply with all policies and procedures of PlumpJack.
Patrol bar property, noting any problem areas or unusual activity.
To assist in preventing and quickly deescalating fights, escorting or removing trespassers or guests in violation of property policies and protocol, and contacting law enforcement when needed.
To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Manager on Duty, when necessary, to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
To note safety hazards and takes appropriate remedial action.
To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
In an emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons, immediately notify the manager on duty.
To be responsible for maintaining and protecting assigned security equipment from damage.
To represent PlumpJack in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote the PlumpJack internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.
To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
