About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring the safety and security of the facility and property as well as employees and visitors. This position may be responsible for securing gate access; controlling access to the building; making rounds; directing visitors; providing assistance to the public; and responding to alarms. The Security Officer is responsible for responding to incidents and writing corresponding incident reports. Pay Rate: $20.77 per hour Shift: Two shifts available, 24 hours per week Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11:00pm - 7:00am (overnight) or Monday and Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm and Sunday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Requirements

• Must have 1 year of security experience within the past 5 years.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen upon hire and obtain the necessary clearances
• Must be 21 years of age
• Ability to effectively read English and communicate verbally or in written form
• Good in emergencies

Nice To Haves

• Prior Military or National Guard experience
• Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of college level course work
• Completion of a Police Officer's Training Course.

Responsibilities

• Security guard tours
• Controlling and monitoring access control systems
• Generating incident reports and journal entries
• Directing contractors and visitors
• Interacting with members of the public
• Monitoring CCTV
• Monitoring, answering, and generating emails in a timely manner
• Software monitoring
• Respond to emergencies as needed
• Other duties as assigned
