At TJX Companies, the Part-Time Backroom Supervisor is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. This role also contributes to an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers and maintaining a clean, organized store. The supervisor is expected to role model exceptional customer service, promote a culture of honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality. They will orchestrate truck deliveries, prioritize merchandise processing to the sales floor, and train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles. The position involves ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, communicating with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient goods flow, and monitoring team productivity while providing coaching. Additionally, the supervisor organizes and rotates back stock, upholds merchandising philosophy and signage standards, maintains backroom cleanliness, ensures compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, and communicates effectively with management and Associates. They will also partner with Management on Associate training needs, ensure adherence to labor laws and policies, promote credit and loyalty programs, support shrink reduction goals, and maintain a safe environment.
