About The Position

The Part-Time Associate (Cashier) plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining store operations. This position involves providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, and managing cash register transactions, all while contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English and interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and may order, receive and stock merchandise using proper equipment.
• Assure proper pricing on merchandise and check product date codes to validate proper rotation.
• Stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale and set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Review invoices/bills for accuracy and clean and maintain sanitation standards in all areas of the store and parking lot as directed by management.
• Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and make change or process check/charge/debit transactions.
• Process cash and/or credit refunds when approved by management and verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers by providing them with current store and product information.
• Load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties and record lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
