The Film and Media Arts Program at DePauw University invites applications for a part-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor for the Fall term of the 2026-27 academic year. Preference will be given to candidates with an MFA in Film Production (or closely related field), though candidates with a Ph.D. in film or media with extensive production/digital filmmaking experience will also be considered. Candidates without a terminal degree, but with at least a Masters degree, will be considered at the rank of Instructor. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The program specifically seeks candidates to teach at least one section of Introduction to Digital Film Production during the Fall 2026 term. Candidates who are interested in teaching an additional course may be assigned a second section of Introduction to Digital Film Production or another course such as Screenwriting. Teaching assignment is one or two courses during the fall term. Film and Media Arts is an interdisciplinary program offering a major and minor under the banner of the Creative School. The curriculum offers a balance of production and critical studies courses. Courses are taught by faculty from a wide range of departments across the university, as well as faculty housed within the program itself.
