About The Position

Reporting to the Athletic Director, under the supervision of the Head Softball Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for their designated aspect of coaching, assisting in recruiting and willing to assist in any role needed. The candidate needs to be a relentless supporter of Lorain County Community College and its athletics department. The program will be conducted in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations of LCCC, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Candidates must maintain a current CPR and AED certification. This is a part-time, 12-month position.

Requirements

  • Three years coaching experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Solid administrative skills with the ability to communicate and motivate student-athletes to achieve goals.
  • Willingness to interact comfortably with individuals and constituency groups that are crucial to the advancement of the softball program along with the department and institution.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Associate degree.
  • Competitive – Driven to educate and coach with the will to earn sustainable success.
  • Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions.
  • Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
  • Diversity Oriented - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
