Requirements

  • Current CPR
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of driving experience
  • Possess good verbal communication skills
  • Bend, sit, kneel and lift up to 125 lbs; push/pull objects over 50 lbs
  • Maintain physical agility for safe patient handling in demanding environments
  • Tolerate extended periods of driving or riding in an ambulance/ WC van
  • Perform effectively in physically strenuous and emotionally challenging situations

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain an Ambulance while in compliance with all laws pertaining to the operation of the vehicle while transporting patients
  • Interact professionally with other health care personnel and with disabled, disadvantaged, sick, and injured persons
  • Complete daily vehicle inspection and equipment checklist, including cleaning of vehicles (inside and out)
  • Clean all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures and restock/replace used linens, blankets, and other supplies
  • Makes careful check of all equipment so that van is ready for the next run
  • Maintains vehicle in efficient operating condition
  • Colleting payments and issuing receipts if needed
  • Secures all passengers per the Company Passenger Securement Policy
  • Responsible for safe loading/unloading of all passengers
  • Ensures all reports, letter, and documentation are accurate and completed in a timely fashion
