About The Position

Outreach is a Christian community service organization providing counseling, case management, youth development, older adult service, and community development. For 50 years, Outreach has changed the lives of thousands of individuals, children, youth, and families in DuPage County, IL, and we are seeking to hire a diverse staff of highly competent professional employees to pursue Outreach's mission to restore hope and provide opportunities for people to become all that God intends them to be. Outreach is hiring a Part-time Administrative Assistant within Outreach Transitional Housing to support the Director of Transitional Housing and Jubilee Village program and assist with related administrative duties.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or BA/BS Degree in nonprofit administration, business, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Previous community development or transitional housing outreach work.
  • A relational and flexible style, and self-motivated.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and take responsibility for a variety of projects.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of low-income and diverse populations.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license, good driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains all paperwork, receipts, records, and invoices for building maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Performs administrative duties for the Transitional Housing Director, including drafting documents, form creation, filing, photocopying, running reports in agency database, and data entry as requested.
  • Maintains proper data entry and accounting with resident payment accounts in Excel and runs reports in Apricot, the agency’s database, to support grant compliance.
  • Engages with volunteers, prospective volunteers, residents, and prospective residents in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Sends out and/or prints out announcements that pertain to the whole building as needed, including coordinating basement room schedules for team meetings and training.
  • Maintains supply levels and purchases for offices and storage rooms.
