About The Position

The Administrative Assistant works in a busy office environment and must efficiently multitask between various assignments. This position plays a key role in the coordination and distribution of work. Project managers, office managers, and field staff are the primary internal customers the Administrative Assistant supports. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable part time Administrative Assistant to support daily office operations, including administrative, accounting, and onboarding functions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy and professionalism. Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both powerline construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider. Sturgeon Electric’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) construction division provides a full range of capabilities related to transmission, distribution, substation, and clean energy construction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of general administrative experience required
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to field and office personnel
  • Answer and direct incoming calls, and greet and assist visitors
  • Operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and phone systems
  • Maintain organized records and ensure accurate data entry using Microsoft Excel
  • Manage the full new hire onboarding process from start to finish
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted within established timelines
  • Always maintain confidentiality of employee information
  • Review and approve vendor invoices for payment
  • Assist with weekly payroll processing
  • Prepare and manage weekly vendor billing
  • Oversee the FR/PPE process, including inventory tracking and payment processing
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately, on time, and to a high standard
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support office operations
  • Adhere to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, as well as all applicable professional standards
