About The Position

The Asset Management System Specialist monitors, oversees, and manages the planning, inspection, and development of various Maintenance related tasks at the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in asset management systems, a detail-oriented approach, and a dedication to maintaining and improving public parks and recreation facilities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management and related methods and procedures.
  • Ability to make good decisions quickly and provide alternate solutions in times of problems.
  • Ability to understand and use of Asset management system software and applications for efficient scheduling and task coordination.
  • Ability to understand maintenance types, and specifications.
  • Communicating effectively orally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of Asset and maintenance management experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists, supports, and oversees the development of Maintenance tasks and processes for the Parks asset management system; maintains strong communication with clients, System Administrators, and contractors on assigned Asset maintenance projects.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and addresses potential maintenance and asset tracking issues, and provides options to help prevent issues from becoming challenges.
  • Assists in preparing and analyzing detailed reports, Maintenance and Asset related issue submittals/approvals, close-outs, and various other informational documents and reports; ensures accuracy in data management.
  • Provides weekly status reports to clients, supervisors, and upper management; consistently communicates on-going ticket and request status, project progress, and issues.
  • Facilitates and participates in training and professional development; attends meetings with supervisors, crew leaders and contractors on upcoming scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance projects, and all necessary requirements to be certified through the City of Dallas.
  • Gathers, compiles, and applies information required for the completion of a maintenance task by utilizing available resources and assists in obtaining new ones when necessary.
  • Conducts on-site audits and visits to divisions or sites to monitor the progress and the compliance of Parks maintenance operation.
  • Coordinates open discussions and strategic working relationships within parks maintenance communities.
  • Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
