About The Position

This is a working supervisor position and exists to provide maintenance support to the commercial buildings in the city inventory. The Facility Crew Lead will supervise and evaluate the work of the Park Custodial staff, as well as future Facility Maintenance Technicians assigned to their work unit. Tasks require working independently and as part of a team, and must be able to follow prescribed instructions, procedures, and policies. The employee is also required to complete other tasks as assigned. Starting pay for candidates with the required minimum of 2 years of experience is $24.86 per hour. Pay is based on your prior relevant experience. Experience credit is also given for honorable military service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum two years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc
  • Working knowledge of common hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot with technical competence and research
  • equipment for extended periods of time. Regular and proper use of PPE is required.Ability to coach and direct employees
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other city departments
  • The ability to follow and comprehend written and oral instructions
  • Must be able to apply safe working habits

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance on city and park facilities, including routine mechanical work on commercial building systems
  • Document maintenance work and assets associated with city buildings in the city asset management software
  • Work within the department purchasing policy to maintain the inventory of consumable building supplies
  • Supervise and evaluate the work of the Park Custodial staff, and future Facility Maintenance Technicians, as well as train staff on industry’s best practices
  • Work with other city departments to coordinate contractual maintenance and projects that are beyond the scope of in-house capabilities
  • Maintain functional and safe conditions of the city’s building inventory
  • Acts as one of the points of public contact for reservable park facilities
  • Assists with snow removal on city properties
  • Other related duties, such as the preparation of city facilities for private reservations and public events
