About The Position

The Parks Maintenance Worker performs various tasks for the maintenance and upkeep of Williams County Parks. This is a seasonal position, averaging 35 hours per week. Work is typically available from April until mid-October, depending on weather conditions. Work is primarily performed on weekdays, but some weekend and evening shifts may be available.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; OR 1 year of relevant work experience (such as farm-related)
  • Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License or equivalent
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including mowing lawns, weed eating, and trimming trees
  • Operates equipment used in the maintenance of County Parks, including trucks, mowers, weed trimmers, hand tools, and power tools
  • Performs general cleaning and maintenance of County Parks, including cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning public areas, picking up litter, and emptying garbage receptacles
  • Inspects and repairs picnic tables, benches, and other park amenities
  • Operates chainsaw to trim trees and harvest firewood
  • Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code.
