About The Position

Parks operations. Coordinates and oversees all activities that will fall in the parks, and cemetery areas. Takes initiative to aid in other areas of the department.

Requirements

4-5 years of relevant experience including 2-3 years of supervisory experience
Associate degree in related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Possession of, or to be able to obtain a Non-commercial Pesticide Applicator's license is desirable
Must have a current Utah Driver's License (Commercial Driver's License preferred)

Responsibilities

Prioritizes and schedules projects and maintenance items in the Public Works Department
Coordinates and reviews the work of maintenance workers assigned to parks and cemetery grounds-keeping
Installs and maintains the irrigation systems throughout the parks, cemetery, and all other facilities of the City
Assists in the design, installation, and maintenance of municipal parks, open spaces, trails, and cemetery
Performs landscaping and groundskeeping work as needed to maintain attractive environs
Prepares facilities for youth sports activities and other recreational programs/events
Oversees contractors' work relating to parks improvements and repairs
Assists in the maintenance and repair of equipment, vehicles, and tools
Monitors operations for compliance with safety standards
Assists staff in cemetery maintenance and the digging of graves
Provides recommendations for the purchasing of equipment and supplies for the department
Assists community members in organizing service projects in the city
Aids in the preparation of parks and cemetery budgets and helps monitor department's expenses
Assists with storm water, snow removal, utility repairs, and road maintenance
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
