The Parking Operations Manager oversees all parking operations at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, ensuring consistently positive parking, arrival, and departure experiences. This position leads a team of Parking Attendants and is responsible for delivering exceptional, empathetic, and responsive service that enhances the overall visitor experience for Museum guests and visitors. Specifically, you will: Manage all activities in the Parking Garage, West Terrace Parking Lots, parking along Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive, the West Entrance and the North Entrance of the museum. Ensure that all Parking areas are well maintained and clean, in partnership with custodial and maintenance staff and contractors. Manage financial and operational workflow, including performing daily reconciliations, producing routine reports, and maintaining parking system hardware and software. Supervise all Parking Attendants. Set schedules to ensure consistent coverage of all parking lots. Oversee the quality of work for Parking Attendants to ensure all work tasks and assignments are performed as required. Ensure that Parking Attendants are well-informed and able to provide accurate information about the museum and Philadelphia. Maintain parking system database to ensure all information is current. Provide training and supervision for accurate parking system use. Greet, escort, assist, and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the entrances and along Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive. Demonstrate a proactive approach to serving Members and visitors, welcoming all people to the museum and providing assistance when needed. Coordinate with Education and other Museum staff to manage bus traffic for adult and school groups, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure process for all buses. Respond to visitor concerns in a professional and courteous manner, taking action to resolve them. Support and when available participate in Facilities staff meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the activities that impact Drive Operations. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the role for the entirety of the shift, outdoors with exposure to weather during all seasons.
  • High School diploma, some college coursework preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills; prior customer service experience required.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing employees required.
  • Fluency in English; other language(s) a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills; familiarity with point-of-sale software a plus.
  • Good judgment, strong communication skills, detail-oriented, organized, problem solving skills.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Genuine interest in communicating with and assisting others.
  • A track record of dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Personal interest in the arts or a related field preferred, but not necessary.
  • Experience in hospitality, customer service and/or retail preferred
  • Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus.
  • Background check required after a conditional job offer is made.
