About The Position

Under general direction, the Parking and Operations Fiscal Analyst is responsible for performing all fiscal accounting and analysis work for Parking and Operations which includes Parking and Transportation Services, University Print Shop, Campus Copier Program, Property, Asset Management and Receiving and Mail Services. Provides high level budget support for approximately $20 Million budget made up of primarily self-support funds. The incumbent is also responsible for performing granular accounting work for the Parking & Transportation Services department, including the reconciliation and validation of various parking financial reports while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, public administration, or a related field and four years of relevant experience required.
  • The ideal candidate is a highly organized professional with exceptional proficiency in MS Office and advanced computer skills, including Excel and enterprise-level databases.
  • They possess strong written and verbal communication abilities and demonstrate a solid understanding of financial record-keeping methods, general office procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Skilled in reviewing financial documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards, they can effectively analyze complex data within large systems and generate insightful reports to support management decision-making.
  • This candidate ensures fiscal accountability through diligent monitoring of financial records, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and approaches challenges as a proactive problem solver.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of related finance experience preferred.
  • Governmental accounting experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of a wide variety of funds with different requirements and/or education code regulations such as general fund, operating, enforcement and sustainable transportation, construction and other required reserves.
  • Analyzing and forecasting financial information and making appropriate recommendations to the Director in regards to financial planning, administration of budgets and authorization of financial and business transactions.
  • Performs regular expenditure analysis, forecasting and cost benefit analysis.
  • Provides recommendation to the Director to ensure that self-funded units have sustainable long-term financial plans. This includes the analysis and recommendation of adequate fee structures and revenue streams.
  • Prepares and processes journal entries for all Parking activities, including charge backs, in CFS (Common Financial System) while ensuring compliance with general accounting principles.
  • Reviews financial statements & performs reconciliation of Parking department activities.
