Job Summary: We are looking for a reliable and professional Parking Enforcement Officer. The successful candidate will play a key role in enforcing parking regulations and restrictions on foot for the City of Chicago. Strong willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain. The ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus.
  • Conflict management skills to handle sometimes confrontational situations with the public protesting a citation.
  • Computer literacy to enter data into handheld devices.
  • Must be on a payment plan for unpaid parking tickets in the City of Chicago.
  • Transportation to and from the client's Shift Briefing area is required.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions such as heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol Assigned Areas: Enforce parking regulations and restrictions on foot.
  • Team and Independent Work: Operate independently or with a team member, reporting to a field supervisor.
  • Issue Citations: Generate written and/or computer-based parking citations, and transfer citation data to a centralized system.
  • Customer Complaints: Resolve customer complaints in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Special Event Support: Provide enforcement support for events involving the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears, and other city events as requested.
  • Outdoor Work: Work outdoors for entire shifts (6-8 hours) in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and heat.
