About The Position
Under close supervision of a Senior or Supervising Parking Attendant, performs the routine work involved in operating a parking facility used for the temporary parking of motor vehicles.
Requirements
- Knowledge of: The problems and proper procedures involved in operating a parking facility.
- Ability to: Remember and carry out oral and written instructions; add, subtract, multiply, and divide using decimals, percentages, and fractions; learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units; read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position; and be courteous at all times.
- Employees are required to wear the uniform provided at all times.
- Minimum Age Requirement: 16
Responsibilities
- Collects money for parking fees and makes change
- Directs traffic into parking spaces
- Operates entrance gate
- Gives directions to visitors concerning the location of city facilities
- Keeps parking areas clean
- Counts money collected and reconciles with receipts
- Cleans trash around parking lots
- Performs other related duties as required
