About The Position

The Parking Attendant at Copper Mountain is most often the first face our guest's see in the morning and the staff that ensures everyone exits the resort in an organized manner at the end of a long busy day. Parking attendants typically begin their workday before the sun has even crested the Ten Mile Range. Expect many long, cold, mornings waiting for the sun to rise. Expect to spend the majority of your day on your feet. It is important to remember that your position contributes to the guest's first impression of Copper Mountain. You will need to maintain a working knowledge of the resort's weather conditions, snow reports, base area locations, and special events. In addition to directing traffic and parking cars in the larger free lots, you will assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the outdoor areas for which the base operations department is responsible. Operate the tools and equipment of the department in a safe, efficient and effective manner in order to complete all assignments and duties. Throughout your workday practice good housekeeping in your workstations and maintain all equipment, vehicles, and tools in addition to picking up trash in the parking lots and base areas. Please be advised that Copper Mountain is a dynamic resort environment. You must be flexible with your schedule and be willing to work weekends, holidays, long hours, and overtime at a moment's notice. It is the responsibility of the parking attendants to alleviate congestion in the Village and direct traffic out of the lots and onto Hwy 91 at the end of the day. You must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a written test to obtain a flagger certification card.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Driver's license.
  • Required to stand, walk for long periods of time in a high alpine environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

  • Expedite the routing of traffic on Hwy 91 to assure a safe, convenient, pleasant and well-organized entrance experience to all parking facilities.
  • Perform the daily trash policing of all parking lots including emptying trash cans in all lots.
  • Maintain all equipment, vehicles and tools and report all repair/replacement needs to the foreman and/or the Vehicle Maintenance Department.
  • Perform staffing and/or traffic control.
  • Perform daily counts of parking lots and abandoned vehicles (as well as their locations) and report them to the Foreman.
  • Monitor and adjust traffic control signs for changing conditions and status.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices of work areas, locker facilities, work sites, and company vehicles.
  • Maintain, as directed, all permanent and temporary signs located in the village to include: proper attachment, adequate spacing, proper alignment, satisfactory appearance, snow removal, banner attachment and placement, adequate wording and cleaning.
  • Removal by hand or machine of snow and snow piles from all common areas.
  • Provide the guest with free jump -start service and assist the guest in an effective and efficient manner in order to make their experience at Copper Mountain a pleasant one (even with a dead battery at the end of the day!).
  • With direction, appropriately marking of all hazards and obstacles to ensure the safety of all Copper Mountain residents, guests, and employees. Also marking of any fixture or accessory to ensure no damage from traffic or plowing operations.
  • Maintain, as directed, village ski racks to include: removal of unwanted stickers, bumping of racks to prevent freezing to the ground, snow removal, and repair or replacement of broken or missing parts.
  • Perform the safe, effective, efficient and hassle-free parking of the guest and employee in both pay and free parking lots.
  • Greet every guest encountered and be available to assist guests in any manner possible in assigned work areas.
  • Provide courteous, accurate, and reliable information to the guest regarding; weather and ski reports, special events, activities, and general knowledge of Copper Mountain.
  • Uphold the most professional image and continually strive to exceed our guest's expectations and create memories for both our guests and staff.
