Department: Job Description Summary: Position Responsibilities Accuracy in Parking Counts: Ensure accurate data on parking occupancy to support the management of construction projects and ensure that spaces are allocated efficiently. This impacts the timing and success of the construction phases. Operational Efficiency: Maintain and resolve issues with Pay on Foot (POF) machines and AMANO equipment, ensuring the efficient operation of parking and payment systems for patients, visitors, and staff. Traffic Safety: Enforce traffic safety policies within the parking lots, ensuring that vehicles move safely, and that pedestrian pathways are clear and properly maintained Issues sequentially numbered parking tickets with date and time stamped at visitor entry. Retain numbered stub of ticket to be turned in to Parking Lead Officer at completion of tour of duty. Deposits revenue collected into Cashier Depository. Controls overload of parking lot and influence traffic flow into, out of and through, the parking lot. Maintains fixed surveillance of parked vehicles as observed by department supervisors, visitors or other MSMC supervisory personnel. POF and AMANO Equipment Troubleshooting: The officer will be trained on the Pay on Foot (POF) machines and AMANO equipment, becoming the first point of contact for any technical difficulties such as ticket jams, issues with deposits, and general troubleshooting. Support for Construction Projects: By ensuring parking data is accurate and traffic flows smoothly, the officer will help facilitate the coordination of construction efforts and minimize disruptions to the campus environment. The officer will patrol parking lots to ensure compliance with traffic safety policies, including speed limits, pedestrian crossing, and proper parking in designated areas. Warnings, notices, or parking citations will be issued when necessary. Monitors drivers to assure compliance with MSMC traffic rules and warn violators a directed and observed by supervisors. Patrols parking areas to assure compliance with MSMC parking rules and evidence by lack of improperly parked vehicles upon inspection by supervisors. Screens persons entering MSMC property for proper destination and purpose in accordance with prescribed polices. Stops and reroutes unauthorized persons in a firm, but courteous, manner as observed by supervisors. Assisting staff, patients, and visitors by escorting them safely to and from parking lots and entrances. These escorts are essential in maintaining a secure and navigable environment Conducts area checks to assure integrity of physical security of parking lots and grounds as directed by supervisors. Locks doors, clear areas and initiate other physical security measures as required by prevailing procedures or conditions and as observed and directed by supervisors. Greets and assists patients and visitors in a cheerful manner as observed by supervisors. Provides escorts, open doors upon authorized request and maintain a pleasant demeanor as observed by supervisor and in surveys of employees. Familiarizes him or herself with all pertinent MSMC and the Security Department policies and procedures and translate their content into appropriate actions a observed by, or reported to, supervisors. Obeys all laws, statues, ordinances, on and off duty, as proven by clear criminal and driving records.
