About The Position

The City of Oneonta Park & Recreation Department is seeking a dependable part-time employee to assist with routine grounds maintenance at Park & Recreation facilities. This entry-level position focuses primarily on mowing, weed-eating, and general landscaping tasks to help maintain clean, safe, and attractive public spaces.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions, including heat.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
• Employees must be able to pass a drug test.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass and perform weed-eating at Park & Recreation properties.
• Perform general landscaping and grounds upkeep, including trimming, edging, and debris removal.
• Assist with basic cleanup of park areas and common spaces.
• Operate basic landscaping equipment safely and properly.
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Follow all safety guidelines and departmental procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
