A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PARK RANGER As a Park Ranger, you spend your day assisting visitors, maintaining parks, and proper usage within the facilities. Your work typically involves monitoring park activity and enforce proper usage of playground equipment, picnic facilities, public restrooms and other park amenities. Your job is essential to the city, and you implement rules and regulations as set by City ordinance. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include performing maintenance work as needed including stocking restrooms, general clean-up of park areas, painting and general repair work. When you are not out in the city, you generally assisting with maintenance and inspection reports and perform simple landscaping tasks as needed. You also ensure manage the opening and closing of the park. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in maintaining parks and use of facilities, and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
