About The Position

We are looking for a Parent 2 Parent Coordinator to join our team! The Parent 2 Parent Coordinator is a part-time (20 hour/week) position that oversees Kitsap County's Parent to Parent program, which connects families of children and adults with developmental disabilities or special health care needs with trained volunteer "Helping Parents." This role ensures high-quality, culturally responsive peer support and facilitates training, outreach, and reporting in collaboration with the statewide P2P network. Sharing resources, facilitating connections, referral to services, as well as navigation assistance are some of the activities that this position has that create a real and lasting impact on families. Holly Ridge Center is a nonprofit organization offering highly specialized programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. Founded in 1963, we have continuously offered support, guidance, education and highly specialized programs and services in Kitsap and North Mason Counties. Through these efforts, Holly Ridge Center strives to create an inclusive community where we learn, work, and play together.

Requirements

  • Parent or family member of an individual with developmental disabilities (required).
  • Resident of Kitsap County for at least 3 years (required).
  • Lived experience navigating developmental disability or special health care systems.
  • Strong skills in mentoring, outreach, and volunteer coordination.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience facilitating support groups and family events preferred.
  • Bilingual skills and cultural competence highly desired.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outreach, information, and referral to families seeking peer support.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer Helping Parents following P2P best practices.
  • Match families with peer mentors based on shared experiences and cultural/linguistic needs.
  • Host support groups, trainings, and family events to strengthen community connections.
  • Collaborate with the Arc of Washington and statewide P2P coordinators; attend required trainings and calls.
  • Collect and submit quarterly reports to the Arc of Washington and Kitsap County.
  • Assist in maintaining a phone line, online referral system, and timely responses to family inquiries.
  • Participate in public awareness efforts, using approved P2P branding and materials.
  • Provide resource and system navigation to families seeking assistance with developmental disability services.
