The Parasitology Laboratory Aide is responsible for the collection, processing, and preparing of fecal samples. Antech's products and services include 90+ reference laboratories, in-house diagnostic instruments, digital cytology services, data services, practice information management software, veterinary imaging and technology, professional education, and board-certified specialist support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Attention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions
  • Positive, can-do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Collect fecal specimens from login, scan into loads, and prepare for set up.
  • Meet all minimum department requirements for para loads and Fcombo set-up rates.
  • Accurately building loads and label processing tubes
  • Split specimens for Giardia ELISA when required
  • Find missing specimens.
  • Print and reconcile queue list
  • Maintain organization of storage refrigerator
  • Maintain all equipment including hoods, centrifuges, etc.
  • Awareness of quality control and calibration
  • Crosstrain and develop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab.
  • Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.
  • Maintains clean and organized work area.
  • Restocks supplies as needed
  • Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
  • Consult with senior peers on non-complex Parasitology tasks to learn through experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
