Para p rofessional As our Paraprofessional , you will carry out lesson plans for students and co-teach in classrooms with the Special Education teacher, working closely with teachers, counselors, mental health agencies, and administration, to best serve students. Our school team provides an encouraging, accessible, supportive and positive learning environment and monitors student behaviors to pro-actively intervene during escalations. In this position, you will work within our school team to support adolescent students with behaviors and challenges ranging from behavioral misconduct, severe emotional disorders, substance abuse and addictions, and other issues associated with mental and emotional well-being.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass the Para Pro Exam
• 2 years or more experience working with at-risk youth
• Strong desire to make a difference with youth
• Able to successfully pass background and criminal record checks, and comply with drug free workplace rules
• Meets all mandated health requirements (negative tuberculosis test, etc )

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities
