Paraprofessional–Adolescent Mental Health Clinic (Full-Time)

Requirements

• Experience with adolescents in an education or behavioral/mental health setting
• Experience as a paraprofessional or teacher’s aide
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies and classroom support techniques
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication, empathy, and crisis-management skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in daily programming, including academic activities, group sessions, and structured transitions
• Assist with small group or one-on-one support to reinforce learning, engagement, and skill development
• Partner with teachers and clinical staff to implement behavior support strategies and classroom structure
• Monitor client behavior and provide real-time coaching, redirection, and positive reinforcement
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and organized environment throughout the day
• Observe and document client participation, behaviors, and progress in the EMR
• Assist with preparation of materials, activities, and daily programming needs
• Support clients during transitions (arrival, dismissal, breaks) to ensure safety and consistency
• Reinforce social skills, communication, and daily living skills appropriate for adolescents.
