About The Position

Under the guidance of an intervention specialist or teacher, aid with day-to-day classroom functions and student support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, and
  • Desire and ability to work with children of multiple ages and abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management/support skills.
  • Basic to intermediate skills working with computers and school technology.
  • Ability to communicate as necessary with parents.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and writing abilities.
  • Positive attitude about working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting all school subjects, including math, writing, science, social studies, reading, writing and testing.
  • Aids the teachers in the instruction of students.
  • Aids teachers in testing and assessment of students.
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support:
  • Assist with preparation of classroom materials, assessments, monitoring students, and evaluating and recording student achievement.
  • Assists in preparing materials, grading, attendance, paperwork, documentation and other clerical tasks as directed by the teacher, department head or administrator.
  • Reinforces learning skills as modeled by the teacher.
  • Follows and reinforces classroom management and school discipline policies.
  • Assists in supervising the behavior, safety and well-being of students in and outside the classroom, halls, and playground.
  • Other duties as assigned.
