About The Position

Assists with the delivery of instruction, care and discipline, and preparation of instructional materials for three, four, and/or five year-old pre-kindergarten students as directed by the classroom teacher, while also supporting English language acquisition in a Spanish language. The paraprofessional supports curriculum delivery, student supervision, and development of instructional materials to ensure a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • For ECE Para's Only: Copy of your high school diploma or GED AND must successfully complete ECE 101 within a designated period of time which will be determined after hire.
  • ELA-S paraprofessional positions are required to complete a proficiency exam hosted by Berlitz. The test has two parts, speaking and reading and the candidate must pass in order to be hired for the position. For more information, check out SLP Exam for Paraprofessionals.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with instruction in both English and Spanish language to support students' language acquisition.
  • Provides individualized and small group support to reinforce early learning concepts and language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Prepares and organizes instructional materials and activities under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Supports daily routines, including care, discipline, and positive behavior reinforcement.
  • Assists with classroom organization and cleanliness.
  • Helps with supervision of students in the classroom, during transitions, and on field trips or during special events.
  • Communicates with parents and guardians about routine issues in their native language, as directed.
  • Supports assessment and feedback cycles related to student language and literacy development.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student records and follows district policies and procedures.
  • Attends required trainings and participates in professional development and staff meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with State of Colorado child care licensing requirements and ECE-specific background checks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
