About The Position

The Paraprofessional 3, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), will assist the school staff in the care and management of enrolled students while they are in school. The Paraprofessional 3, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), duties are performed under the direction of the teacher and supervised by the pri DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS: All district employees must: · Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Physical presence is expected as part of a reliable and predictable pattern of attendance. · Support the district’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan. · Engage in civility, respect, and professionalism. · Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.

Responsibilities

Adheres to the daily schedule and assignments with teacher supports.
Implements the instructional programs of the district as directed by the teacher.
Maintains and assists with student records as directed by the teacher.
Participates in inservice and professional development activities.
Follows lesson plans and provides supervision in the absence of the teacher.
Assists with the development of lesson plans.
Provides for the care, well-being, and supervision of students with disabilities as directed by the teacher.
Establishes and maintains positive, professional communication among students, staff, and parents, as applicable, per the direction of the instructor as directed by the teacher.
Assists with the duties of Paraprofessional I and 2, as necessary as directed by the teacher.
Assists with the implementation of the classroom management system as directed by the teacher.
Assists with the implementation and use of sign language or augmented communication systems related to the student's communication needs as directed by the teacher.
Implements instructional activities such as reading out loud, small group subject lessons, art activities, music activities, cooking, etc. as directed by the teacher.
Performs light custodial duties that relate to the safety and hygiene in the classroom and other environments accessed by the student as directed by the teacher.
Assists students with community-based instruction and training, both on and off campus, as directed by the teacher as directed by the teacher.
Supervises student behavior using positive behavior supports and interventions in the classroom, lunchroom, on school grounds, and at off-campus activities as directed by the teacher.
Participates in parent involvement activities that may include conferences as directed by the teacher.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
