About The Position

The Paraplanner / Associate Planner (on track to become an Advisor) is a hybrid planning and client support role designed to strengthen Stevens Foster’s planning capacity, while developing into a future Advisor role. This position supports financial planning preparation, analysis, and implementation while progressively building client facing skills and relationship ownership. This role is intentionally structured as a developmental pathway. Successful candidates may advance into a full Advisor role over time. In the near term, this position provides immediate planning and meeting support, while expanding the firm’s Advisor bench for future growth.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in financial services or financial planning support
  • Baseline understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology
  • Working knowledge of individual tax planning fundamentals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow through
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to grow into a client facing advisory role
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and respect for confidentiality
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a fee-based Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • Progress toward CFP®, CPA, or similar designation is a plus
  • Experience with CRM and planning systems (Junxure/AdvisorEngine, eMoney or similar preferred)
  • Familiarity with Fidelity and Charles Schwab institutional platforms a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update financial plans using firm planning tools
  • Enter, validate, and maintain client financial data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Support planning strategies across retirement cash flow, executive benefits, education funding, risk management, and estate considerations
  • Collaborate with Financial Planners on planning deliverables
  • Prepare materials for client review meetings and annual planning discussions
  • Attend client meetings and track follow up items and implementation steps and
  • Ensure accurate documentation of meeting notes, action items, and decisions in CRM
  • Develop working knowledge of client goals, family structures, and financial priorities
  • Partner closely with Advisors to support ongoing client relationships
  • Gradually assume responsibility for select client communications and follow-up under guidance
  • Build the skills necessary to translate financial concepts into clear, client friendly language
  • Coordinate with Client Service Associates, Planning, Tax, and Investment teams to ensure timely execution of client deliverables
  • Support account setup, transfers, and account maintenance service requests as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and firm data
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as needed in a collaborative, small-firm environment
