About The Position

This role focuses on providing medical and clinical support services to patients. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Anesthesia related duties: Provides anesthesia for patients undergoing surgical, obstetric, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures while monitoring the patient’s condition and supporting vital organ functions. Responsibilities also include diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and/or cancer pain as well as provide resuscitation and medical management for patients with critical illnesses and severe injuries. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that supervises all levels of employees. Responsibilities that typically include: Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results, problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex, and ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders. Job Overview This position has overall responsibility for communication, scheduling, and oversight that pertain to the patient flow, supplies, and equipment as well as the patient experience in a complex surgical environment. Works to assure timely arrival of patients, care of the patients in clinical settings, ordering of supplies, and communication regarding case add-ons, emergencies, and special case requests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent training.
  • One (1) year of supervisory or management experience in related role or environment including previous experience working as an Anesthesia Tech within an Operating Room Environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Nursing Professional Practice Leader on current standards.
  • Evaluates clinical practice of Critical Care Techs (CCTs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) to assure clinical tasks are performed according to policies and procedures.
  • Performs all personnel-related functions including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance appraisals, coaching/counseling, educating, and progressive discipline.
  • Evaluates the surgical schedule to determine needed personnel and equipment.
  • Ensures excellence in quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads performance improvement initiatives with demonstrated quality outcomes.
  • Assists leadership team with strategic initiatives regarding process improvement efforts with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Performs regular rounding on team members and patients per established guidelines.
  • Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working groups achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment. Adheres to policies and procedures and is a role model for excellence.
  • Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Provides in-servicing as needed.
  • Participates and leads in all aspects of regulatory readiness, including auditing and maintenance of database tracking.
  • Creates tools, collect data, analyze data, and communicate outcomes.
