Job Description Summary: Provides emergency medical services and treatment to Emergency Department (ED) patients. Evaluates and stabilizes patients in accordance with hospital and departmental policy. Job Description: Essential Functions: Assesses the patient's condition and provides appropriate emergency medical care, monitoring and adjusting treatment as necessary. Administers medications and performs advanced medical procedures as directed by ED nursing staff or the physician. Assists with the transport of patients between the ED and other NCH medical facilities. Maintains and operates equipment and supplies needed for emergency care. Collaborates with staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians to ensure quality patient care. Maintains and reports accurate patient care documentation. Education Requirement: As required by listed licensure and/or certification requirement. Licensure Requirement: (not specified) Certifications: Certified by the State of Ohio as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, required. Current CPR Certification. BLS for healthcare provider, required. PALS within 18 months of hire, required. Skills: Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Experience: One year of pediatric patient care experience, required. One year of field experience as Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, preferred.
