About The Position

This position performs technical work driving an ambulance, rescuing and transporting the sick and injured, administering emergency medical care, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and does related work as required.

Requirements

• Ability to promote good public relations and work with citizens, doctors and hospital employees
• ability to perform the physical activities required, to include, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pulling, stooping, walking and other physical exertions of 300 pounds of force with assistance
• Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license
• Certification by the North Carolina Medical Examiners Boards as a Paramedic
• NIMS certifications 100, 200, 700, and 800
• High school diploma or GED
• Current valid NC driver's license with a good driving history
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• operating an approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims and administering appropriate emergency medical care to patients while enroute to a hospital
• responding to the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls, applying necessary medical treatment to sick or injured persons and transporting persons to a medical facility
• exposed to the normal hazards of emergency rescue work, including risk of exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens
