Department: Center Operations Entity: Team Members affiliated with Joint Ventures Pay Range: $19.50- $24.50 Job Relationships Responsible to: Regional Operations Manager Assignments received from: Regional Operations Manager Positions supervised: None Job Summary In a collaborative manner, the Paramedic provides support to the Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologist, and patients through a variety of tasks, including but not limited to patient care management, organization and communication. Responsibilities include front desk registration, patient vital sign collection, social and medical history collection, point of care testing, medication administration, and provider assistance within office procedures. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Passed the Paramedic licensure examination
  • 0-2+ years of Paramedic experience
  • State Paramedic Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
  • Demonstrated competency in Electrocardiogram (EKG) testing and Venipuncture procedures
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree, preferred.
  • 3+ years of Paramedic experience preferred
  • Pediatric care experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
  • Point of Care Testing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Understanding of HIPPA

  • Create and maintain a welcoming environment for patients by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Verify insurance information and collect and process co-payments and deductibles.
  • Schedule patient appointments for assigned center and/or coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialist.
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; complete diagnostic coding and procedure coding and maintain patient information confidentiality.
  • Conduct interviews to verify patient information; record medical history and confirm purpose of visit.
  • Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical test vital signs and reporting patient history summary.
  • Assist provider with patient evaluation and in office procedures.
  • Notify providers of abnormal patient findings.
  • Perform in office point of care testing including various medical conditions.
  • Perform phlebotomy, dressing wounds/injuries, and EKGs.
  • Perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies, perform preventive maintenance, and call for repairs as needed.
  • Perform BLS emergency care procedures and manage environmental emergencies
  • Medication administration per protocols approved by the local Medical Director.
  • Prepare set-up for various clinical procedures, including suturing, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, etc.
  • Conduct intravenous catheter insertion, IV fluid administration, splinting, venipuncture and other related clinical procedures as needed.
  • Performing courtesy call backs to follow up on patients.
  • All other duties as assigned.
