The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during the transport to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at the scene, the Paramedic partners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation. The Paramedic offers basic and advanced life saving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification. Medical City Plano opened in 1975 and provides Plano and Collin County with advanced health care. Medical City Plano is a 600+ bed acute care hospital. We have more than 2,000 employees and over 1,400 physicians on staff. Our main campus in Plano has a cancer treatment center and cardiovascular programs. We have The Bariatric Surgery Institute, a Wound Care Center and inpatient rehabilitation. We also offer complete womens and childrens services. This includes a high-risk antepartum unit and a Level 3 neonatal intensive-care unit. Requirements

Paramedic
Vocational School Graduate, or Certificate
Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
1+ years Paramedic experience required

Responsibilities

Operate emergency medical vehicle and responds to calls for aid in emergent situations.
Evaluate patient condition to establish the right course of treatment.
Provide a variety of emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
Manage non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.
Lift and transport patients, ensuring patients remain stable during transport.
Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.
