About The Position

GENERAL SUMMARY Location: Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital Unit: Emergency Department Shift: 7a - 730p / 24 hour per week Responsibilities Provides basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients. Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse. Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Provides population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions. Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Michigan Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
  • Certification specializing in ER Vehicle Operation preferred.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
