About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY DEFINITION Under general direction, provides direct supportive care to patients. May perform designated procedures under supervision of the Registered Nurse or Physician within their scope of practice. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education Education supplemented by vocational training in para-medical program (EMT-1 or Paramedic). Or an accredited LVN program as evidenced by licensure. Experience: Previous experience as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-1, paramedic or LVN) preferred but not required.

Requirements

BLS certification through AHA only
EMT certification or Licensed Paramedic
Or current California LVN licensure with IV certification
Phlebotomy State Certification (if not licensed paramedic or LVN with IV cert)
Basic arrhythmia (preferred)
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Knowledge of medical modalities
Knowledge of basic arrhythmia
Knowledge of basic EMT procedures
Knowledge of modern office equipment, information system and software programs
Knowledge of report writing
Ability to understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, standards, and procedures
Ability to keep abreast of developments in the field of expertise
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to prepare necessary reports and records
Ability to manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes
